Last year we initiated a schedule for cleaning the Zen House at 1813 Wilton Road in Cleveland Heights. Deciding it was time to refresh this schedule, we have recently separated the various cleaning tasks into blocks that include a focus on specific areas of the first floor used for our Zen activities. We have tried to
ensure that each ‘block’ of cleaning can be reasonably completed within an hour to an hour and a half. Accordingly, we are inviting volunteers to sign up for a block of cleaning so all areas of the house receive appropriate attention on a fairly regular basis, ideally, at least once a month. There is a sign-up board in the Zen House kitchen where you can schedule yourself for a block of cleaning. Please schedule yourself when Aaron is at work (Tuesdays between 5-7, Wednesdays between 1:30 and 5:30, Thursdays between 5-7, and Saturdays between 1:30 and 5:30). You can text him at 216-867-8796 or email him at aarongilbertarnold@gmail.com to let him know when you will be coming. It is important that we respect his privacy as our tenant and sangha member. Contact Susan, Art, Larry, or Vondell about access to the house.

There are 6 blocks of time/task focus: Window Cleaning, Main Zendo/Steps/and Landing to Kitchen, Dining. Room, Cushion Storage Room, Downstairs Bathroom, and Kitchen. Cleaning supplies are located in a corner of the landing leading to the basement steps as well as on a shelf in the basement to the right of the basement steps. Whatever rags/cleaning cloths you soil should be placed in the cleaning bucket usually found on the basement landing. Someone will be assigned to launder them and return them to be placed with cleaning products and mops, etc. Swiffer products should be discarded in the trash can. If you think the rugs are reasonably soiled, please alert Susan and someone will be assigned to launder them. Bring your own gloves if you’d like to have them. The specific task descriptions are attached to the schedule in the kitchen.

Gratitude in advance for your willingness to volunteer.
